Union with אלוהים
Love is as strong as death;
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
Love’s flames are vehement flames of fire,
the very flame of Yah.
Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot sweep it away.
Intimacy with a Holy God
One woman’s journey of walking with a kind God Who burns with ardent flames of love.
The Bride’s Song of God’s Beauty
My Revelation on the Island of Patmos: Part 3b of 5
The Shulamite represents the Bride of Messiah. The Bride describes 16 attributes of her Beloved God in Song of Songs 5:10-16 depicting why she is lovesick for Him in a time of crisis.
Are you suffering or facing difficulty? In your weakness, worship.
You will ravish Yeshua’s heart, and He will say to you, “Turn your eyes away from Me for they have overcome Me,” Song of Songs 6:5.
(Other Scriptures are used to interpret the poetry in Song of Songs. Prayers are written with each attribute based on Scriptural interpretation.)

Holy
“My Beloved is white"
Love of my life, Holy One lifted high You are dazzling light enthroned on the praises of Israel. Creatures flying, seraphim dancing, thunder resounding, multitudes singing, elders falling retaining no glory. All are crying, “Holy! Holy! Holy!”
(Isa. 6, Rev. 4 & 5, Ps. 22:3, I John 1:5, Ps. 139:11-12, I Cor. 13:4-8)
Ardent Love
“My Beloved is…ruddy (red)”
Gazing into the window of Your soul through Your eyes like unquenchable, vehement flames, I see zealous love that consumes You.
You are Yah, the everlasting burning, the flame of love. I am my Beloved God’s and His desire is for me.
(Song of Songs 7:10 & 8:6-7, Rev. 1:14, Deut. 4:24, Isa. 33:14)
Incomparable Superiority
“Chief among ten thousand”
Beloved, You came in the likeness of men, setting aside Your garments of light and putting on garments of flesh and blood.
You did not seek honor for Your noble sacrifice. You served, humbled Yourself unto death and were broken for all. Your humility has exalted You to the highest places.
(Phil. 2:5-11, Isa. 53, John 8:56-58)
Priceless Thoughts & Sovereign Leader
“His head is like the finest gold”
Beautiful One, You have a veil of mercy over Your mind as You think and process what You hear. Whatever is true, honorable, lovely, pure, of good report and just, You think on these things.
All I want to do is sit at Your feet and hear Your refined thoughts of wisdom and divine insight. I trust Your leadership in my life!
(Heb. 4:16, II Sam. 24:14, Luke 6:36, Phli. 4:8, Luke 10:38+, Isa. 26:3-4)
Covenant God
“His locks (hair) are wavy, and black as a raven”
You display Your eternal consecration to me with Your wavy locks as the Nazarites vowed to not cut their hair as a sign of their consecration unto You.
An everlasting covenant sealed in Your own blood cries out that You are a Bridegroom God in love with Your creation. I am Yours Yeshua.
(Num. 6, Judges 13, I Sam. 1:11, Luke 22:14-20, John 3:29, Rev. 19:7)
Steady, Peaceful Gaze
“His eyes are like doves by the rivers of waters washed with milk, and fitly set.”
Like the dove, You do not look to the left or to the right. You are gazing at me even when You are not answering. Oh Shepherd of my soul, guide me with Your Spirit-filled, peaceful eyes of love.
(II Chron. 16:9, Luke 3:22, Psalm 23, Psalm 32:8)
Passionate Emotions
“His cheeks are like a bed of spices, banks of scented herbs”
Oh that You would cause the beaming smile on Your face to shine upon me! Let me see Your “emojis” Yeshua. :D
Let me admire Your expressions, feel Your emotions and know Your zeal for me my beautiful God.
(Psalm 45:7, Num. 6:25, Isa. 62:4-5, Zech 8:2, Jer. 31:3, Matt. 9:36)
Pure Speech
“His lips are lilies dripping liquid myrrh (burial spice)”
With lips like lilies, Your speech is pure and kind. You are the nicest One I know.
There is grace upon Your lips that grants mercy and righteousness.
You declare Your love as strong as death, and as the living Word of God, everything You say is truth.
(Psalm 45:2, John 1, John 14:6, Song of Songs 8:6-7)
Eight more attributes of God’s beauty that are found in the Bride’s Song in Song of Songs 5:10-16 will be in the next blog post.
My Revelation on the Island of Patmos: Part 3a of 5
Escaping to the Island of Patmos in 2012, I was desperate to find rest and healing from intensifying trigeminal nerve pains.
The Shulamite’s Song in the Night
When bouts of pain have come, besides Yeshua’s story, the inspirational story of the Shulamite in Song of Songs 5 has comforted me. She too was vexed with an aggregate of afflictions.
The Shulamite, representing the Bride of Messiah (Ephesians 5:22-32), was beckoned into the veil of night by the Lover of her soul.
She arose to be with her Beloved God, and in an unexpected abruptness His presence was gone. She searched diligently and repeatedly cried out His name but to no avail.

The Shulamite’s Song in the Night
When bouts of pain have come, besides Yeshua’s story, the inspirational story that has upheld me is that of the Shulamite in Song of Songs 5.
She too was vexed with an aggregate of afflictions.

The Night Watchmen
“It’s in the middle of the night!” Unempathetic to the Bride’s plight, the guards of the city incessantly demanded, “Shut up! Stop this foolish desperation!”
Infuriated that the Shulamite would not concede, with dark cruelty they attempted to beat her into submission.
Instead of breaking her will, their torment only enhanced the Shulamite’s longing for her Beloved God.
Daughters of Jerusalem
The Shulamite cried to the daughters of Jerusalem, “If you find my Beloved, tell Him that I am lovesick.”
The daughters of Jerusalem had vowed to remember God’s love, but their hearts were growing cold in the face of tribulations.
They questioned the Shulamite, “What is your Beloved anyway?”
The Shulamite was physically and emotionally distressed. However, her intimate knowledge of her Beloved and her obedience to Him had solidified within her a knowledge of Him.
She had no accusation against Him, only desire for Him.
Beauties of the Beloved
With tears and a light in her eyes, the Shulamite recounts the rare beauties of her Beloved’s image that stole her heart.
She sings, “My Beloved is white,” meaning, “My Beloved is holy.”
The Shulamite emulates Yeshua in recounting Yehovah’s holiness.
In Psalm 22, hanging on the cross Yeshua vehemently cries, “My God, My God why have You forsaken Me… yet You are still holy!”
She continued to paint a picture of her Beloved by describing 16 attributes of God that sustained her heart during pain.

My Revelation on the Island of Patmos: Part 2 of 5
Can I Trust His Heart?
The pulsating electricity, the fiery burn and the spasms in my face ignited a grave desperation. Exhausted from pain, silently I pleaded with my God of mercy to help.
There was only silence, except for a hint of His Spirit saying, “I love you.” I sensed that Yeshua was weeping with me. Hearing these simple words and seeing Him in this intercessory role brought comfort that calmed and quieted my soul.
As beautiful as it was to see this picture of Yeshua, this was not the revelation on the island of Patmos that I had anticipated or wanted. At this point, I just wanted the pain to end.
Waiting for healing, fighting to believe, and enduring a debilitating disease that made me want to detach my head from my body, this is not the life I wanted.
In the throws of bitter suffering I was faced with a critical decision, “Could I trust God’s heart for me and His leadership over my life?”

God Is Love
In everything God does, He is love. He is holy and blameless in love, and He cannot escape Himself. He was love, is love and will always be love.
Elohim alone defines love and holds the truth to the mysteries of the lengths, the widths, the heights and the depths of love.
On bended knee He invites us into the fellowship of love with the Godhead. Oh the beauty of our God Who alone is good and Whose love endures forever!
Whether this loving God restrains Himself or if He moves in the power of deliverance, of this I am confident: He is love and is much smarter than I.
His brain is bigger. His heart is bigger, and He knows what He is doing.
These simple truths were the foundation stones that saw me through the quagmire of the pain and suffering. These truths kept my heart from growing cold.
When I chose to trust His heart and His leadership over my life a gentle peace washed over me. I embraced the simple truth of Who I already knew Him to be.
God is love.
His unwavering dove’s eyes were on me. Steadily His fiery eyes stayed upon me communicating His affections and giving reassurance that all will be ok.
His eyes peered deeply, searching out the secret places of my heart discovering the words hidden in my heart and how my soul responds in a dire situation.
Bring Me Forth Into Love
God seeks to bring us forth into love by using the greatest amount of pleasure and the least amount of pressure.
He alone knows the perfect balance of pleasure and pressure that is needed to recreate a soul into being a vessel who emulates the very image of her loving God.
Am I saying that those who seem to suffer more are in need of a bit more refining than others? No, of course not. (But with me, that might very well be the case. ;D)
What I can attest to is that God does work all things together for good if we open our heart to Him. (Romans 8:28)
In the face of a martyr refusing to deny Yeshua, in the face of Yeshua Himself, the light of glory shines brightly as the sweet-smelling incense of sacrificial love ascends into the heavens.
These inspirational martyrs and Yeshua’s own sacrifice strengthened me to follow the way of love.
While enduring taxing and grueling pain, there was a distinct expression of unfailing love and trust that my soul slightly tasted as I worshipped the LORD.
This offering of trust and love as strong as death was beautifully glorious in the LORD’s eyes.
Pain is pain. We all experience it. We all are thrown into the raging waters of what to believe of God and how to respond to Him while in agony.
“Love is as strong as death. It’s jealousy unyielding as the grave. Love’s flames are vehement flames of fire, the very flame of Yah. Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it.” Song of Songs 8:6-7
